Iowa legislators have confirmed that they do not care about their citizens or their rights.

We recently posted about the massively sweeping legislation in Iowa that would eliminate nearly 200K workers rights to negotiate for essentially anything but wages. And now, Iowa legislators (influenced largely by out of state money) have put another nail in the working class citizens coffins by passing the measures.

The Iowa Policy Project which is a non-partisan group was quoted in the article stating that the measures passed would "exacerbate existing trends—low and stagnating wages, growing uncertainty about access to affordable health care, and increasing income inequality—that are already accelerating downward mobility for many Iowa households. And these effects are likely to disproportionately harm rural communities, low-income workers, and to threaten the quality of the health care, public safety, and public education systems upon which all Iowans depend."

We should be watching Iowa these coming months and years to see how badly this will effect their educational systems, healthcare, and first responders compared to States that have collective bargaining rights.
