Child Rapist Will Enjoy Automatic “Good Time”
In August, Judge Marlin Polk presided over the sentencing hearing of Earl Gallion.
Gallion had been convicted of sexual assault on a minor in the first degree.
This charge means his victim must have been between the ages of 12 and 15 years old.
For raping a child, Judge Polk sentenced Gallion to a flat 14 years in prison.
Had Gallion’s victim been younger than 12, he would have received a 15 year mandatory minimum sentence.
Without good time.
But, thanks to Nebraska’s sentencing laws, Gallion WILL get automatic “good time” and MUST be released after serving only seven years.
Should “Good Time” apply to child rapists?
