Where Is The Outrage?
Last month, Judge Marlon Polk presided over the sentencing hearing of Tracey Wooten.
Wooten had been convicted of manslaughter, attempted robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
In August 2011, single mother Devina Johnson was simply sitting in her car when she was ambushed and brutally shot to death.
The crime left a 2 year old girl without a mother.
Judge Polk sentenced Wooten to a flat 34 years in prison.
Wooten is 21 years old.
Nebraska’s good time laws mandate that Wooten will likely be released in 14 years.
However, he must be released in 17 years after he has served half of his sentence.
Even if he isn’t “good”.
He will be 37 years old when he receives his mandatory automatic “good time” early release.
His victim’s daughter will be 19.
You can do better than that.
